Google Discover disruption, not showing new content?

There seems to be an issue with Google Discover where new content isn’t showing. It’s unclear how widespread of an issue this is.

Does the content in Google Discover seem dated? Many people seem to be having this issue with Google Discover, though it is unclear how widespread it is.

Why we care. Google Discover can drive good to amazing levels of traffic to your site. So whenever it has issues like this, it can seriously impact your traffic and revenue. If your Discover traffic seems lower than usual, you may be effected by whatever is going on right now.

What’s happening. On X, Gagan Ghotra wrote:

  • “Google Discover on Android devices is not loading fresh content which was published today. Feed is stuck at showing content from yesterday.”

A few other people responded, confirming they are having the same issue.

On LinkedIn, Nicolás Billia wrote:

  • “Feeds are showing +24 hs hours URLs and content is not staying more than 30 minutes in feeds.
  • “…Google’s Discover feed is currently experiencing disruptions, with users in certain markets not seeing news from the past 24 hours.”
